Nursing During Hurricane Katrina

Since most of us if not all are nursing students I thought this video about the nurses experiences during Hurricane Katrina was important to add.  This video tells the stories of the nurses who had to work during Katrina not knowing if they were going to survive themselves.  In the video the nurses talk about their working conditions in which they had to work in.  One nurse explains how there was no running water so the only way to wash their hands was with hand sanitizer.  They also couldn't shower so they would wipe their bodies with alcohol swabs to clean themselves.  Another nurse talks about the loiters in the streets and how people were going around armed and shooting others the nurses had to take the patients out onto the parking deck because that was the only place they knew they would be safe from those loiters.
